Locks of Love

Sleeping Beauty first heard about Locks of Love (a non-profit organization where you can donate hair to be used for wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer or other illness) sometime last Spring. She didn't have quite the length she needed to donate then, but she was determined that she was going to donate her hair as soon as she could.

Yesterday, she decided she'd had it with her long hair. It was time to cut the ten inches off, no matter how short her hair was when she was done. She donated in honor of Grandpa, who had thyroid cancer, and our friend, Brother Ellis, who is fighting brain cancer. She felt great doing it, and I think she looks mighty cute, too. We're proud of you Sleeping Beauty!

  1. Way to go. By the way, is this the same Brother Ellis that we all knew when we were in Pemberly Court?

  3. Laura--no this is a different Brother Ellis. Ironically enough, the Brother Ellis we knew there has a wife who survived a brain tumor a few years ago. I never made that connection until this minute. I guess all the Ellis families are strong, fabulous people!
